With a solid career in tourism, my theoritical background has helped a better understanding of the current challenges in the tourism industry. Although my previous roles helped me develop leading skills to improve already set business models, I feel I am still far from the point where I could face with confidence technical issues regarding the safest way to creat a start-up. This course is a unique opportunity for me to learn more, develope entrepreneurial skills and maybe proceed with taking my ideas forward as a businessman. There's been a lot talk for overtourism phenomena lately such as the ones Barcelona, Venice or Santorini deal with rather unsuccessfully. My idea is to create a secure marketplace online for sustainable tourism development where home-owners, property managers, service providers and travelers will be equal stakeholders offering and using existing infrastructure and services in viable destinations and in colaboration with the local communities. The aim is achieve the nessacary osmosis, a gradual assimilation of greener practices along with social enhancement. Fascinated mostly by challenging opportunities with an international audience I work in the tourism industry since 2002. With a professional background in services, my track record is broadly in the fields of Business Development, Account Management, b2b Sales and Customer Service. With significant international exposure and a cross-culture mentality, I strongly believe that a result driven attitude and active business practices, is the key parameter for a successful career. Through the years in my career I belive I have achieved a sufficient consiousness of the industry's principles and this is the right time for me to challenge myself and investigate new potentials.
